This is a four day course designed for both the asset geophysicist who needs to estimate risk and volumetrics, petrophysicists who need to estimate acoustic rock properties, and new QI specialists who would like to see the big picture and understand the fine points.  The emphasis will be on the BHP QI workflow, a focused look at the theory behind it, and hands on application.  By the conclusion of the course, the student is expected to be comfortable in extracting amplitudes and using those amplitudes to risk and estimate volumetrics for their prospects and/or assets.
